The Speedmaster Tapered Surf Leader is designed for use with fine diameter mono or ultra-fine braid and absorbs the immense pressure placed on the line when casting long distances!
Each shock leader is 15 metres long and suits all rod lengths and casting styles.
If you want to maximize casting distance, one of the simplest and cheapest ways is to use a thinner main line with a stronger shock leader.
For efficient, trouble-free performance, the preferred option is a tapered shock leader like the Speedmaster Tapered Surf Leader.
You get maximum strength at the front end of the leader, to absorb the initial shock of the cast, but a thinner knot where it joins the main line, allowing the line to slide freely through the rod guides.
The Speedmaster Tapered Surf Leader has a super smooth finish, which minimizes friction when sliding through the guides, high abrasion resistance and excellent knot strength to cope with the excessive stresses caused by longer casts.
Particularly suitable as a shockleader to be used with spomb/spod braids to increase their functionality when casting.
Available in both clear and high visibility orange, in a variety of different taper sizes to allow you to choose the correct option for the diameter of your line in your reel, using the Speedmaster Tapered Surf Leader is guaranteed to increase casting distances compared to using larger diameter lines.
