The Baitrunner DL sits proudly in the mid-range of "traditional" Baitrunner reel designs. The high-quality engineering, hidden within a stunning smoke grey body, is a proven winner, making the DL a great choice for feeder anglers and specialists looking for a freespool mechanism.
If you decide to buy the Baitrunner DL, one of the biggest shocks you'll have is the price. While this mid-range Baitrunner has all the quality you'd expect from a Shimano reel, including the original Baitrunner freespool mechanism, it actually costs less than many of the "copies" made by other manufacturers! Pair the 10000 size with any carp rod with a medium-strength test curve and you'll have a very balanced set-up. Or combine the 6000 size with a lighter rod, or a Specialist model for a lighter combination. Whichever you choose, it's sure to be a winner.
The Baitrunner DL uses a combination of Shimano shielded stainless steel bearings and a roller bearing to produce the reassuring smoothness that all Baitrunner owners know so well. It's hard to describe, but once you've experienced it, you'll never forget it. And when it comes to casting, the AR-C spool, combined with Varispeed line lay, ensures that line leaves the spool as easily as it was spooled. Both the 6000 and 10000 sizes feature a double handle, which is wonderfully balanced while still providing enough power to control larger fish.
