Spod/Marker rods from the CTX line!
To achieve casting distances similar to those possible with long range carp rods, it is necessary to use high quality carbons, and we produce them to the same quality as used in the carp rod range, maintaining the same look.
A complex production process integrates Japanese 40t and 30t carbons with a resin content of less than 25%.
Alternating 90-degree and zero-degree spiral wrapping provides added strength, while an additional 3mm carbon tape wrap at 45 degrees produces extremely strong yet ultra-light and thin blanks.
For this reason, we believe that these actions can be equally suitable for use as spod rods as for marker work, which is why they are called SPM (Spod/Marker) rods.
Because of the added resistance created by floats and leads, we prefer rods with more “backbone,” but still retain responsive tips for casting.
Because the tips are responsive and load quickly, they are perfect for accurate casting with smaller spods and Spomb at shorter distances, but powerful enough to cast larger spods and Spomb at longer distances.
All rods feature 12" and 24" depth marks, Fuji DNPS-M20 reel seats, stainless steel collars and butts and 'S'-Lite guides with 50mm butt ring.
Like all Free Spirit rods, they are built on the backbone, which helps ensure more accurate casts and greater durability.
