The compressed shape of this lead, coupled with its two flattened sides, makes it perfect for short to medium-range bolt rigs . By its very nature, the flattened pear-shaped lead dictates fishing on marginal slopes, on the sides or backs of gravel banks, or in rivers. But in reality, it's one of the most effective shapes for short to medium ranges because it holds so well on the lake bottom and offers fantastic hook-set potential. This type of lead looks a lot like a stone on the lake bottom, and during the filming of Underwater, it camouflaged itself better than any other.
