MINI HELI SAFE is a lead release system in case of snagging.

The Mini Heli-Safe is a smaller, more compact version of the original and retains all the features that made it such a success...plus a few more.

It works exactly the same way that Heli-Safe was revolutionary when it first hit the market. We've been able to give anglers a way to helicopter fish, but with the ability to lose the lead when a fish is hooked. This is a huge advantage when fishing near weeds or snags, or when using setups like Chod rigs.

The Heli-Safe made helicopter fishing quick and effective; simply attach a lead to the system, and it will do the rest, releasing the lead as soon as the leader swivel presses against the top of the Heli-Safe. Technology has since advanced, and we've managed to make the system much smaller, which not only makes it less visible on the lakebed, but also reduces drag, improving distance when casting at extreme ranges. It also reduces the likelihood of getting tangled in weed or snags during the fight once the lead has been lost.

Besides being more compact, the biggest difference from the original is that it has three settings: the classic one, which allows the lead to release as soon as there is pressure on the top of the Heli-Safe; the one with a red spring, which requires significantly more pressure to eject the lead, and is perfect for situations where you only need to release the lead occasionally on lakes that are fairly free of weeds and obstacles; and finally, the one that prevents the lead from ejecting altogether by using the plastic collar, as in the original version.

The Mini Heli-Safe comes with a size 11 half swivel and can also be used with leadcore. Despite its smaller size, it's incredibly strong and can withstand the use of any of our lead weights, even when casting at extreme distances.
