Spod Braid is a braided line for spod rods designed to make baiting as easy as possible, even when fishing at long range!
This braided line has a breaking strain of 20 lb/9 kg and a very small diameter: only 0.16 mm.
Precisely for this reason it allows you to cast a spod or Spomb as far as possible using fishing rods, while at shorter distances it allows you to do so with minimum effort thanks to a very efficient cast.
Spod Braid is also very strong, which is essential given the frequency with which it is cast.
Although it allows you to create strong knots, it must be used with a 30 lb/13.7 kg Arma-Kord shockleader to avoid breakage during casting.
Keeping it wet during use prevents frapping. The high-visibility fluorescent green color not only ensures the line is visible during retrieval, but also helps scare birds (including seagulls) away from the spot during the cast, which is particularly useful when spodding with floats.
Each spool contains 300m of Spod Braid – unless you’re spodding long distances, you can load two reels with one spool as long as you also use extra line to load the butt of the reel.
