The “critical balanced” Hookbaits are a hybrid between a pop up and a sinking bait.
They were designed to ensure a very natural presentation of our rigs and to improve the quality of hook sets. Slightly buoyant, once baited they sink slowly, completely eliminating the weight of the hook, ensuring a presentation with the hook resting vertically on the bottom. They are particularly suitable for use in highly pressured fishing spots where the most suspicious fish, following negative experiences, have developed a typical "reduced suction." In these situations, hookbaits are perfect, ready to snap at the slightest suction, generating hook sets deeper in the fish's mouth, drastically reducing the risk of unhooking!
The new hookbaits also feature a higher percentage of attractants, consisting of a minimum of 13 different ingredients! They're essentially a blend of natural extracts, soluble flours, nucleotides, appetite stimulants, yeasts, protein hydrolysates, and synthesized whey and egg proteins. Like the sinking line, they're made exclusively with fresh whole eggs.
This particularity makes OCB baits unique in their kind and extremely effective!
From a structural standpoint (in terms of exchange with the liquid element), they are formidable and capable of staying tenacious for many hours. For this reason, we recommend using them at all times, year-round and in any spot, to ensure you'll always be fishing.

As a guide, 20mm hookbaits will self-balance with a size 2 steel hook; 16mm hookbaits will self-balance with a size 4/6 steel hook.
