Based on the traditional and popular classic Maruta Kinryu fork hook pattern from the 1980s and 1990s, Korda 's reinterpretation has made it easier to use by replacing the fork with an eye.
The Wide Gape boasts a slightly inward-facing eye, a short shank, a hardened bend and a razor-sharp beak-like point.
It can be used with a wide variety of pop-up rigs or bottom baits, and once inserted it tends to stay in.
A Wide Gape X version is available for more extreme fishing situations in the UK or abroad.
The Wide Gape XX version, even more solid and resistant, has been designed for truly extreme circumstances abroad, such as those in which the enormous Siamese carp or the Mekong catfish are found in Thailand.
For areas where the use of barbed hooks is prohibited, Korda offers the Wide Gape B instead.
It is sold in packs of ten and each version of this hook is available in different sizes: 10, 8, 6, 4 and 2 for the Wide Gape; 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 for the Wide Gape B; 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 for the Wide Gape XX and 12, 10, 8, 6, 4 and 2 for the Wide Gape X.
